Putty is an ssh client for Windows. It supports X forwarding, so if it works as well as ssh in Linux does all you need do is log onto a Linux ssh server. You will then get a 'telnet' type terminal window, but any X applications you start in that terminal will appear on your client desktop. I like it better than vnc because you only get the windows you are interested in. (Although over a remote connection Tightvnc will make better use of bandwidth) derek
