My grandson has a M$ one that I bought some years back. At that time the design was what has been described in this thread as a marble mouse - in other words with a large ball on top, and two buttons by the thumb. The whole thing is considerably bigger than a conventional mouse, and the hand seems to fit over it much better, better supported. With the conventional mouse I find that I swivel on the heel of my hand to move the mouse. I would say that the risk was greater there, not to mention the fact that I have a very sore place there on my right hand now.
