Glad it helped Ricardo . If you are using StarOffice 5.2 I guess you are using 
Mandrake 8.2 or earlier.
There is a little trick to making fax work in pre 9.0 versions of Mandrake
Edit the file /etc/fax.config

find the 'LOCK' parameter and set it to
LOCK='-x /tmp/LCK..$DEV' 

then efax will work correctly.
