I did have to add an icon to my menu when I installed, but other than that it seems to work OK. When you open the prog initially it appears as an applet on your task bar which you left click on to display a box on your screen. Right click opens config menu. I see Tex has a newer version than 1.9.1-1, here: ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/contrib/texstar/linux/distributions/mandrake/9.0/contrib/kcpuload-1.91-2borg.i586.rpm Maybe you could try it, if you haven't already.
