These accumulating files may be the remnants of an ancient data-based
civilization being vented through the ether into the broadband
dimension, channeled via ones and zeros through fiber and across
satellites to end up in your ~/home/ directory - merely as a reminder
that there is nothing better to put into your home directory than
garbage? (g)

Personally, I think they're probably either cookies, lock files, or
random bits of MDK ending up there along side the core dump files to
keep them company...
