A few times recently I've had the kernel crash on me. This generally
happens when I have a PPP connection up and am switching between a non-X
screen and the screen I have KDE open in. I'm running kernel 2.2.9-27mdk

What happens is that a long stream of text/numbers flashes past and then
stops with the messages:

Code: 89 02 85 c0 74 03 89 50 04 b8 01 00 00 00 eb 03 90 31 c0 c7
Aiee, killing interrupt handler
Kernel panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!
In interrupt handler - not syncing

Obviously this is most irritating, as the only way I can find to get out
is to hit the reset button.

Can anyone help?

James.
