[newbie] what is the open source answer to kazaa ?

OK, so now I am getting a little comfortable with Mandrake. I am looking for ways to eliminate my need for my other Win2k machine. Here are my current issues.

1. Kazaa: what can I use on Mandrake (linux) to swap files with the ease of Morpheus, Kazaa, etc?
2. Photoshop/Illustrator: GIMP is leaving a little to be desired. Are there any other programs for graphics creation and manipulation?
