Tom, Thank you for your comments.
I can work the reader for XCDRoast if the cd reader is in scsi emulation form, but the trouble is it will not operate as a normal cd reader for other purposes. In view of this I shall take your advice and drop emulation for the reader and resort to the 'command line' for that occasion. Thank you for your input. Malcolm Candlish.
