You could be right - though I personally always prefer to have my data on a 
partition separate from the os files.  As Stephen said, too, you don't want 
to be messing with os files from the other side ;-)  Partitioning is not hard 
- though it would be easier with an old windows startup disk for fdisk, I 
think.

As for fully accessible - you should have no problems, once you are properly 
set up.
