Hi, just a stab in the dark, somewhere in your /etc lives the script that sets this variable on. If there is no tool used for configuring this variable then just delve in there and set it to 0 (or a ridiculously large value, say equal to 48 hours if its possible). Im guessing that setting it to 0 disables that feature.
