I had the SBLive5.1 under 8.2, but had changed to Audigy by the time I put 9.0 on. As far as I can see they function very similarly, though SBLive uses emu10k1 and Audigy appears to use emu10k2. I don't know whether this is an updated driver. I have a feeling that I started with emu10k1, so it may be. If so, Mandrake Update has changed it. You might try that. Under 8.2 I first found that mp3s functioned with 4 speakers (as I said, not many things use the centre one), but I had to make changes to my cd player setup to get that right. Under 9.0 my audigy was correctly installed from the first, but I still needed to revise the setup of xmms to get surround sound from cds. Now it's working, however, I can get all 5 on the few recordings I have that use the centre one. Not much help, I'm afraid, though I would certainly try the Update. Anne
