No reloads. Dig this:

Take the Win98 boot disk and boot with it - but don't let it install
Windows just yet, use FDISK to change the ACTIVE PARTITION to the
partition that had Win2k on it (make sure you remember which partition
was originally set active for your MDK boot!). After you set the
partition to ACTIVE, reboot - STILL with the Win98 disk in. Once again,
don't load Windows, but use FDISK to delete then recreate the Win2k
partition so that it is not a Win98 VFAT partition. Don't worry about
setting it as active - let it - so that you can complete the Win98
install without problems. Once the partition is recreated, format the
partiton for Win98. Now continue with your Win98 installation. After the
installation is done (and you're happy with it's stability - or
instability as the case may be), boot up once more with the Win98 boot
disk, and use FDISK to set the ACTIVE PARTITION back to the MDK boot
partition (probably the smallest partiton on the drive - shown as a
NON-DOS partition - depending on how y'all partitioned it). Reboot - and
you should now see your MDK boot screen. Login to MDK as you normally
would - once logged in, open up a term and run lilo at the prompt - it
will rebuild/readd the Windows partition to your boot menu. You're done.
