I imagine you did not click the dhcp checkbox during network configuration when you installed. As I mentioned earlier, that is not the default. Saw your other post about your Windows configuration using DHCP, so all you've got to do is get the DHCP client up and running and you should be okay. Unfortunately, I'm a Mandrake newbie myself (total experience 3 days) so I'll have to leave it to others to identify how you configure the DHCP client post-install.
