Works fine butOf course, fat32 is less efficient, but I'd hardly think that it would be a real issue when reading mp3 files. There's really not that much i/o, it's mostly computational. I don't see why xmms would be a problem - if you are able to cat or dd the file, then xmms should be able to read through it. Do you have mp3s on other media? I don't use fat32 here but I have both mp3s stored natively (i.e., reiserfs) and on CDROM (cdrom format) and I don't notice any difference. Most of my mp3s are low bit rate OTR stuff where nearly 1 hr of listening is compressed to 10-13 megabytes.
Shrugs, User to Computer error perhaps. It works now, so I Don't mind if its a tad slow. I can't think of a reason for it to be tho. Maybe just something I did ?? Tho I honestly can't see what...nor do I see why rebooting once or twice should help. Anyway it functions thats all I care about atm. I just prefer music to surf by. :)
