I mostly use Mozilla (out of the box from Mandrake 9) to surf the net. Ocassionally, when using Mozilla, the machine locks up forcing me to turn the power off and on. Something that bugs me but I guessed I needed to do my homework to get it working the right way.
However, everytime that I try to download a file larger than 1.5 Mb using Mozilla download manager, the machine just locks up. Hard lock. The same problem happens every time that I have tried to use Mozilla News on heavily trafficked forums (is it fora?). Of course, the same problem happens if I use Netscape 7. I can download using Konqueror or wget without any problem, but I really like Mozilla tabbed interfase. After reading this list for more than 2 months without ever seeing a message about this problem, I guess the problem is related to my hardware (a Toshiba Satellite 5005-S504) (I don't have sound either but I will keep trying to solve it just for the sake of learning). However, as a last resort, I decided to place a message to the list with the hope that some soul have had and solved the Mozilla/Netscape problem. I don't know of any relevant information that I can post to help those who can help me. Best wishes, Adolfo
