1. Get to a shell, become root, and type the following...

 /etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf

2. Edit the UI_FONT="AUTO" replace "AUTO" with "Arial" or whatever other
font you have and want to use.

3. Save, close, and open OOOWriter. You should have menus.

There, and no cast members were killed off in the typing of this email.
