I have a problem with my cd-rom drive on my dell latitude ls-400. If I boot with a cd in the drive the system hangs during boot. This is just a regular data cd with some picture files on it. If I boot with the cd drive empty and place a cd in the drive after boot up is complete, the system doesn't seem to know that the drive exists. It will not read the drive and when I type cd /mnt/cdrom and then ls I can see no files on the disk. This is a removable (plug in drive) that came with my computer. Can anyone offer any sujestions?
