There was a long thread about this in December, IIRC. You might like to search the archives for the details, but in essence, the spell checker is not installed by default. I can't remember whether OO uses aspell or ispell, but you have to install it separately. You also have to check the settings under Options, Language. Anne -- Registered Linux User No.293302
