   wma is audio, wmv is audio+video   FWIW, I've had the best results 
usin Mandrake rpms, and gettin the win32 and quicktime codecs 
directly from mplayer's d/l page.

   IME, mplayer works better from the CL than with the GUI. I haven't 
found a .wm* that doesn't play well. ... and .mov's (even the newest 
Sorenson v3), .mpeg's, .mpg's, .m2v's (really just .mpg's) for that 
matter ;)

  I got  mplayerplug-in_v0.20.tar.gz   from Freshmeat. So far with 
limited testing, it works with mozilla, but not Konqueror for playin 
steams off the Net (with DSL).  Even Quicktime.
