Being that our kids are having their summer holidays, both have recently learned how great it is to have money - but not MY money... Our daughter has found that she can setup an orange juice stand in the front yard, squeeze the oranges available from our trees in the backyard, and she can sell the freshly squeezed juice at $.50 per cup to the neighbours (all of our neighbours are rather older, so I think they're buying it because it's "cute"). Her and her mate have made quite a killing, and have split the profits of this venture equally. Each ended up with around $15-$20 each. Great experience for a 10 year old. The son has realised that doing chores ain't all that bad - especially when getting paid to do them. Not only that, but he now realises that *I* will pay him to assist me in my biz. So he assist in installations of software and OS's - by merely sitting and clicking OK over and over again - and earns $5/hr doing it. No more allowances.
