Filipe, I'm using the default driver, not iscan, but I think this comment may also apply. I had to play around a little with scan settings to get a good result. The default settings were not right for my printer. Resolution is important - there is a known issue (in windows too) that choosing a resolution too high gives as bad a result as choosing one too low, so it is important to experiment.
