Anneas a followup to this thread this morning when I opened my email client there was the usual message from the system with the overnight logs for review. at the top of the list was about 75 lines revealing a brute force attack that was launched against my server around 8:00 am Sunday morning. apparently, from the logs they were attempting to gain access through ipop3d by running a list of possible login usernames. they were of course quite unsuccessful. Chinanet appears to have more then their fair share of no-job-havin-script-kiddie-scumbags that have nothing better to do then behave as low-brow felons. I just wish the Chinese ISP's would respond to the emails I've been sending them letting them know their network is being used to attempt illegal access of remote computer systems!
