Did you all know, according to the Lex colmn, in the FT todays date,that,

1) The Linux technology has emerged as a credible alternative for corporate IT.

2) Sun, HP, and IBM traditionally marketed high margin Unix equipement and software
that have suffered from Linux growing popularity

3) M$ has not been overly affected by linux.

4) Open source software is unlikely to gain even a foothold in personal computing
OS so M$ 's monopoly remains impregnable.It's $8.8bn office franchise is equally
secure.

5) The long term threat to the server business is real.

6) M$ model has been low price high volume model and is for the first time
being undercut on price.

7) M$ can argue that Linux suffers from real security issues that are only
now emerging and that the operating system has a tendency to fragment,
making it difficult to ensure applications reliability .



Say, does anybody recognise this description . I leave it to you to answer.
