a search on google for "libc.so.6 issue (aka;lost in the ether)" came up with;
Index of /linux/Mandrake-devel/cooker/SRPMS ... 1.1.2-1mdk.s..> 06-Nov-2002 14:47 324k glib-1.2.10-6mdk.src..> 25-Jun-2002 12:15 347k glib2.0-2.2.0-1mdk.s..> 31-Dec-2002 14:00 1.4M glibc-2.3.1-7mdk.src..> 22 ... ftp.belnet.be/linux/Mandrake-devel/cooker/SRPMS/ - 101k - Jan. 23, 2003 - Cached - Similar pages on the page, about 1/3 way down is a 14.9 meg file, glibc-2.3.1-7mdk.src.rpm... http://ftp.belnet.be/linux/Mandrake-devel/cooker/SRPMS/ since it is a SRPM, it will have the source code and have to be compiled for your machine.. but it is not "broken" 27,000 hits, and the one _I_ personally liked was "http://www.lost_in_the _ether.info" (note; I don't think that site really works) On Friday 24 January 2003 08:10 am, Robert Wideman wrote: > >> glibc-2.3.1-7mdk > > Where can i find this? Now if you want to try the file, it is most likely going to work, and even more so if you upgrade to "cooker" all the way, but it is _likely_ (and it's porpuse is) to have and find some bugs. Also glibc is a very key componant, and a change in it may mean a complete "no-go" for the kernel you have now.
