Ok...tell ya where I'd start looking: 1.) Make sure that your lib paths are correct and ldconfig has been run. 2.) Make sure that your actual system path is set correctly and that your ~/home/yournamegoeshere/.bashrc is not mucked up 3.) Any garbage in the /tmp is removed. (best to do a console login to get rid of that tripe) 4.) Double check your video driver setup. 5.) Check your home dir for any core-dumps 6.) Kill any unnecessary services that are running in the background 7.) Move the 700 lb. cermaic magnet away from the computer casing. 8.) Poweroff for at least 30 seconds, fire the box up again and see what happens - look through the dmesg logs and other syslogs...bound to either find something, or have no further problems... If you do have further problems, refer to the Microsoft TechNet Website for information concerning LINUX random lockups and BSOD's.
