Most of Asia could really care less about Microsoft's laws, or actually, Western laws - especially those that are wrought by business for business - as is fastly becoming the case with most of the major cases in the US today. China certainly doesn't give a hoot, South Korea, even though it's one of the most "plugged in" countries doesn't care - to them, the idea of "the software police" is more a joke than anything and it ain't gonna stop anyone from either making copies of software, selling copies of software (or movies) or anything else for that matter. Some of that "Asian Attitude" is prevalent here in Australia as well - due to it's locale and proximity. Microsoft has already pissed off several key governmental departments with high priced upgrades - and threats about licensing - we don't have heaps of money like back in the US, and some US based companies end up loosing the Aussie market due to that lack of forethought and arrogance. I personally could care less if the software police came after me - I'm cleaning up my stuff and changing EVERYTHING in the house over to opensource - my wife has been reading through enough of the news lately to formulate her own ideas about the whole picture, and well, it's better than me forcing her to switch over. She just needs to get familiar with some more bits and bobs, but she knows how stable it is and how much more cool and configurable linux is... (If I can only get the damn Canon 265SP printer to work happily and get the damn Canon LIDE scanner working happily, all will be history) Meanwhile, in the waters around Asia-Pacific - any boat that's in international waters is open to literally anything - or vice-versa.
