However what I was driving at (obviously I wasn't very clear) is that if I uncheck the security setting (IE that one that tried access port 995) & revert to my old settings, the email if open still will not send.When you tell evolution to use secure when sending.,,, it will try to connect to port 995 on the server...If that port is not open on the mail server, then the message will not send.. Nothing strange about that.. I't can't send to a mail server that isn't accepting connections on the port you have set. rgds Frank
Iow, If the email is still open/in the composition window, no matter whether the settings are correct again it still won't send until I close that email & go to compose a new one.
