I have an M$ keyboard & trackball. Currently the trackball is attached to the keyboards unpowered USB port. Question: I know poll rates for PS/2's are usually in linux or Winblows very sucky and you should or can use an external util to make the poll rate higher (a good thing for gamers like me).

I was under the impression that a mouse/trackball doesn't suck enough juice to merit it being hooked to the MB. For that matter, I understand (incorrectly?) that USB poll rates are far higher than PS/2's. As a result plugging it in to the mobo's connector (Usb port) or the keyboards yields the same results (IE, the same poll rate).

Now is my information & deductive reasoning faulty? Or not?
Thx
