I have a running ppp connection however I notice alot of errors when I
look at the ppp0 interface with ifconfig. I have attempted to adjust mru
and mtu settings to try and correct some of the errors but have not
arrived at an optimal setting and was hoping that someone monitoring the
list could offer some suggestion. I am using a zoom 56K dualmode modem on
/dev/ttyS1 and have used netcfg to setup the ppp interface. I should
mention this is an external modem and I am using a standard phone line
for my connection to my isp, I have contacted my isp's help desk and
found no help, they only suggested the default of 1500 should work fine
and with that default settin I recieve the largest number of errors. I
would appreciate any recommendations for setting a better mtu/mru value
that would provide a little better performance and less errors with my
connection.
