Well, how did you partition it? Mine, for instance, is /, swap, /home, /usr, /var. Any filename that starts with /home is on the /home partition, any filename that starts with /usr (ie. /usr/X11R6/bin/DrakConf) is on the /usr partition, any filename that starts with /var is on the /var partition. Any filename (on my system) that doesn't start with /home, /usr, or /var is on the / partition.
