Which Wine are you using? And what application are you trying to run? Unless you are fairly savvy with Linux you are likely to get frustrated with 'Standard Wine' from Winehq. It needs to be configured ,and the configuration for one Windows application does not always suit another. You are more likely to have success with the Wine version distributed by Codeweavers (http://www.codeweavers.com/technology/wine/ ) It comes with quite a nice GUI to configure it. If you simply want your Windows applications to "Just work" the best way to do it is to put your hand in your pocket and pay for either a copy of Codeweavers Office which is a Wine release verified to run many Windows office applications like Word and Quicken, or else subscribe to www.transgaming.com for an edition of Wine which will play some Windows games. In both cases you should check that the Windows apps you want to use are actually supported. Alternatively you could find a Linux application with equivalent functionality ;-) HTH derek -- ---------------------------------- www.jennings.homelinux.net
