I'd like to use some central-european characters.
I used the install CDs to "upgrade", this time using
my language (Slovak - I guess it is inessential)
instead of English, and it worked. But suddenly it
stopped (I guess after I ran texconfig to add
hyphenation to latex). When I log as root and start
KDE, it still works, so the problem must be in some
hidden file in my home folder. But I have no idea
which file. Do you know? (I suppose it's somewhere in
.kde, since it concerns only kde editors; gedit works
the same way for me and for root.)

Besides, I'd be happy to be able to use slovak
keyboard without having to choose slovak as my
language (e.g. just by installing locales-sk, and
changing the corresponding file in /etc/sysconfig to
load latin2 composit characters). The problem is that
when I choose slovak as my language during
installation, kde is horribly strange and unstable
(don't have any idea why). It is not so bad, when I
first choose english and then upgrade to slovak, but
still is't a bit strange.
