APM is disabled in services. I've tried the no/off acpi and apic options in 
/etc/lilo.conf, seem to make no diff. (and yes I reran /sbin/lilo). Agp 
aperture size is set to 64 or 128, can't remember which. I've got a 64 meg 
Nvidia Ti4200 Geforce card. I'm using the default BIOS settings for the CPU 
and front side bus. I believe its 266mhz for the FSB. Again, the default 
settings (supposedly safe) are set for memory wait states.

Well, thats about it. I guess you saw in another reply to this thread that I 
figured out what was wrong outside of games - somehow when I installed the 
4191 drivers, it broke my screensavers that needed 3D acceleration. So, I 
just need to know what to do to re-enable them.
