I'd just add: 'urpmi.update -a --wget && urpmi --auto-select' Run it as one command so you never forget to update your sources right before you check for new updated rpms. I made an alias for it to save typing. I've found --wget tries harder than curl does, to get the new synthesis.hdlist.cz if the mirror is busy. I'd also sugest you add more than one cooker mirror. EG, I normally use sunsite because it updates hourly and since it's the primary mirror, it's the first to have new files. But, I also add a second mirror, eg, ciril, or club-internet, that has many less users, for times when sunsite is just too busy. FWIW tho, if you just update once a day or less, sunsite is probly not the best choice for you. Greg's suggestion, "best time to update is about 0:00UTC" is very good advice, specially from European mirrors. Since you're on the CL already, typing 'edit-' and then pressing <Tab> will auto complete to 'edit-urpm-sources.pl' which runs Software Sources Manager (SSM). In that little GUI all your sources are displayed, and you can Check or Uncheck them to choose which mirror to get updates from, or to switch to another one if needed. I'd also suggest that if you have 'other' mirrors (eg, plf, texstar, etc.), or your install CD's still showing as sources, use SSM to disable them while updating from cooker. MOF, leave 'em disabled till you need 'em. You probly won't anyhow ;) -- Tom Brinkman Corpus Christi, Texas
