Every virus scanner I have ever used was a resource hog. Now, I have dual boot machines, but I actually go months without booting Windows.
The last straw for me was when my wife clicked on the AnnK virus and sent it to everyone in her address book. After all, it was the first of the line that could do that, and she got the file from someone she knew and trusted--the filename was truncated, and she thought it was a picture, which she gets all the time in her business. The anti-virus didn't even have an update for it because the virus was so new, so it didn't catch it. Now, my machines are VIRUS FREE.
