use mc midnight commmander

If you mean using konqueror to read and "extract" a tar archive via cut and paste, you will often get 'expected directory, found file' errors. Always open a terminal and tar the archive via the command line; this way you will also be able to use the arguments as you see fit. Regards, Dez Sharp
