37 x 1024^3 = 39.7 x 10^9 40x10^9 = 37.253 x 1024^3 Looks like you're right. It wont actually be either of these numbers, of course, since although bytes-per-sector is a power of two, sectors-per-track, tracks-per-surface and surfaces-per-unit are not generally powers of either two or ten. -- Richard Urwin
