I posted this question before but I received about six or seven
entirely different responses and so I'm going to ask again.
I have the SOURCE of Apache 1.3.9 on my machine and I built it from
there, so it's NOT the RPM that comes from the Mandrake site.
Now that's cleared up...
Axalon's solution of using 'ntsysv' didn't work because httpd doesn't
show up in the list of daemons to execute.
Mr Jones' solution of creating a link in the init.d directory and using
chkconfig gives me an error like, "chkconfig does not support service
httpd".
I'm also hearing things like, "just put it in the ___ directory".
Basically, I'm now thoroughly confused and so I'd like to know what to
do.
On the same note, I'd also like to start up another program I have on
boot. It's Fuzzball (MUCK server) if you want to know. I figure that
this question falls into the same category.
