My 9.1 install went great - I can surf the web, listen to CD's , view images and play mp3's - etc -but I can't get my printer to work which is shared on another computer on my LAN.

When I run "Mandrake Control Center 9.1" , under the "hardware" tab I select "PrinterDrake helps you set up your computer".

After a short waiting period and a couple of messages I get "Please wait - searching for new printers" - - after another short wait - I get a menu offering "Add a new printer" - I select that option - then I get another menu offering to check or uncheck three "auto detect" options . So I uncheck "Auto-detect printers connected to this computer" and leave checked "Auto-detect printers connected directly to a local network" and "Auto-detect printers connected to machines running Microsoft Windows" - and "OK".

Then appears a window saying "The following printer was auto-detected. The configuration of the printer will work fully automatically ----" And below that there is a check on :"Epson Stylus COLOR 600 ESC/P, printer "EpsonSty" on SMB/Windows server "ralphleft.mshome.net". I click "OK".

Then another window asks if my printer is "EPSON Stylus Color 600" . I click "The model is correct".

Then I am offered the option to print test pages and it doesn't print. I have gone through this several times - looking for entry errors.

Well, my printer is an Epson COLOR 600 but I don't know where the "EpsonSty" or the "ralphleft.mshome.net" comes from. The computer is identified as "ralphleft" but maybe the "mshome" should be "WORKGROUP" which is the name I use on my LAN.

I think I am real close to getting it right - can someone give me a shot of "help" please.
