Not when one of the OSes is Windows. If M$ started doing good work, it
would propel their monopoly indefinitely. Ya, we'd have great work and
less reason to look elsewhere, but it really would eliminate any competition.

The only way to have competition is to first eliminate the monopoly, and
for that reason, M$'s sloth and incompetence is good thing because they're
working to eliminate themselves.
