OK, the easiest way to handle this is to boot from the first install CD then type rescue after hitting F1. From there you'll get a menu which allows you to get a console without having your filesystems active. Then you can safely fsck.ext3 /dev/hda6 Note that fsck normally lives in /sbin. You may need to explicitly reference that as there will probably be no path set for you. HTH Brian
