How can I find out where all the programs are installed, so I can refer
to them if I'm building something new that needs to refer to an existing
program?

That's sort of vague, so here's my situation.

1) I got qt 2.12 (or something), because I want it so I can compile
licq's qt-gui plugin.

I'm presuming that I need to know where gcc is if I want to use qt for
developing, right? (Then again, I might not). I don't actually plan on
making anything myself. I just want the libraries so I can build what I
need to build.

2) In the INSTALL file for qt, it tells me to set parameters... for
instance, there's one where you should give the location of gcc (the C
compiler).

So, how do I find where gcc (or other programs, I guess) is installed
at? I don't really know that much about the RPM's, and where RPM's
stick all of their files, so help would be appreciated.
