WINBIND is a daemon that works in conjunction with SMB/NMB to make use of the Windows authentication for network logins/access and the likes - if you're not using it (which I highly doubt) then disable it. If you're already making use of SAMBA and it's working find, it shouldn't matter at all. Unless you're depending on the Windows machines on your network to provide authentication, it's useless. -- Tue Jul 1 21:50:00 EST 2003 21:50:00 up 6 days, 21:36, 2 users, load average: 0.96, 1.11, 1.14 ----------------------------------------------------------------- | __ __ |kuhn media australia | | /-oo /| |'-. |http://kma.0catch.com | | .\__/ || | | |================================| | _ / `._ \|_|_.-' |stephen kuhn | | | / \__.`=._) (_ | email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | ----------------------------------------------------------------- linux user #:267497 linux machine #:194239 * MDK 9.1 & RH 7.3 Mandrake Linux Kernel 2.4.21-11mdk Cooker for i586 ----------------------------------------------------------------- * This message was composed on a 100% Microsoft free computer * -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.12 GIT d-- s:- a+ C++++ UL++++ P+ L+++ E---- W++ N++ o-- K--- w--- O++ M+ V PS+++ PE Y++ PGP- t+++ 5+++ X+++ R+ tv b+++ DI+++ D++ G++ e+ h---- r+++ y+++ ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ You now have Asian Flu.
