Just for kicks I opened gnome-iconedit and closed it to see if it died properly, and guess what...

Issue this command in a terminal to kill it:

killall -9 gnome-iconedit

Then log out and back in again. See if that helps.



killall -9 gnome-iconedit,    works !
tried it 3 times with and without to make sure.

Does that mean then that something is amiss with either the logout script or login script ?

and what can I do to square the situation ?
