I knocked up a perl one the other day..

its been very popular.. over 300 downloads

http://htmlfixit.com/free.php

my counter is invisable and collects stats about your visitors..
screen res, OS, referer, browser etc.... has an admin login to view the
stats..
instructions and whatnot are on the site (and in the zip/tarball).

I'm told its very cool :-)

Subject: [newbie] Hit counter for a web page.

Does anyone know of a site or book that I can get to build a hit counter on
my
web page? I have been using a commercial counter that was free if I allowed
their small add but now they are going to full charge and I can not afford
that for our small business. So I want to build a hit counter and have it on
my server in I am guessing the cgi.bin. Any suggestions or point me in the
right directions? I have googled all over the place, and no luck. TIA
