Do you use autologin, don't you? If you logout after an autologin, you get the 3 inch square blank window. But if you logout and re-login and re-logout, you get the dragon. The OS list appears (for me) only from KDM. Moreover, from the shortcuts of KDE, if I select "Power off (without asking)" (or something similar), I get a logout if autologinned and I get a real power off if loginned. Marco
