Title: RE: [newbie] update packages

I use a directory 'in/RPM' in my home directory to store incomming RPMs.
I've added a source in 'Software Sources Manager':
        Type of sourece: Local
        Path: /home/msabin/in/RPM

Then when I run 'Install Software' I choose to see packages "by repository" and there are my uninstalled downloads waiting to go.

Is there a more elegant way?  I came up with this scheme while in a hurry, and never bothered to work out another method.

Subject: [newbie] update packages

Hi,

I downloaded the latest Evolution form Tekstar and i want to update my
current version withthe new rpm. It's in my download directory that is
known as one of the sources in the Software Sources Manager (Mandrake
Control Center).

When I choose to update software it seems that only available updates
from a mirror site are shown, not the sources on my own machine.

How can i update using my downloaded rpm's?

Marco
