I prefer to NOT use the VMWare Samba - so that the "guest" is actually part of the real network. Managed to get it working - I needed to create an object in the Windows registry that recognised unencripted passwords. All done now.


I don't reckon I'll mess with the regular Samba at this time. Maybe if I ever have to network a second box I'll have a go.
