They're if you want to verify that the isos you downloaded were not corrupted in some way. Type "man md5sum" in a terminal to learn more. In general you can do a md5sum yadda.iso and compute an md5sum & see if it matches with what's on the website.
Or you can save the list of the three isos & their md5sums from the webpage in a textfile named sumfoo. Save it in the same directory as the isos you downloaded and type "md5sum -c sumfoo" to see if the isos match the md5sums that are in the list you just gave it.
