The difference is it is far more trivial to compromise a Windows system
with little or no "hacker" training than it is to compromise a Linux
system. For the average desktop user there is simply no comparison.

Of course all precautions *should* be taken in a production environment,
but something as trivial as Blaster has a snowball's chance in hell of
cracking a Linux system, not to mention Code Red, et al. And don't get
me started on MS patches that come too little too late, and in some
cases *break* functionality or even previous patches.

Statistically, I would bet my left nut that *per system* (ie. taking
into account "market share") Windows systems are responsible for far
more nasty business on the internet than Linux, though I bow to your far
greater experience with Solaris or AIX in that regard.
